Summer Intensive

June 8 – June 19, 2015

The Ballet Conservatory Summer Intensive is designed to provide the highest quality training to aspiring serious dancers. During the 2 weeks, the program encourages participants to focus on classical ballet technique. The curriculum will also provide students to explore new movement and further expand their versatility as dancers. Students will gain strength, accuracy, and confidence from highly effective guest teachers as well as instructors from The Ballet Conservatory and Ballet San Antonio’s professional company.

Dancers not previously taking lessons at Ballet Conservatory please call 210-820-3400 to arrange for a temporary level placement. After close observation in class, the instructor will determine the level in which the student should be placed. Student placement is based on individual skill.

Summer Intensive Guest Ballet Instructors

Phillip Otto – Huntsville Ballet Company, Artistic Director

Mr. Otto has most recently served as New Haven Ballet’s artistic director. Mr. Otto serves as permanent guest faculty for the Rock School for Dance Education in Philadelphia and has taught master classes for Vassar College, Yale University, the Kennedy Center and the Edinburgh Festival among other schools and companies throughout the United States and Scotland. Luis Serrano – Elite Dance Studio, Founder and Artistic Director

Mr. Serrano is the founder and Artistic Director for Elite Dance Studio in Monterrey, Mexico. His career began with the National Ballet of Cuba and later he became Principal Dancer with Ballet Nina Novak, Youth Ballet de Venezuela, National Ballet of Caracas, and Miami City Ballet, among others. During his career he has won several awards, including a bronze medal at the USA International Competition in 1998, Municipal Dance Award for Best Classical Dancer in Venezuela in 1996, and was the first finalist in the International Competition in Paris in 1992, to name a few. Mr. Serrano retired in 2007 as Principal Dancer with Miami City Ballet to found Elite Dance Studio.
